I don't know if this has been covered before, but I couldn't find it through the search. Any thoughts on the best Scarlet before the Fire half was added? Or if they did one by itself (or in a non-Fire segue) after the standard Scarlet>Fire format had been established. Thanks!

As for alternate segues into other songs besides fire, I recall this http://www.archive.org/details/gd1989-06-21.sbd.walker-scotton.miller.83718.sbeok.flac16 Scarlet>Hell being pretty good and there are a few Scarlet>Sugar Mags out there that are excellent. Here is one that I think is really nice. http://www.archive.org/details/gd89-07-18.sbd.9854.sbeok.shnf

Here's a slightly different take on the theme of Scarlets without Fires and, in this case, Fires without Scarlets.

I'm not sure which show it was from, (10/19/74?) but the one on the bonus disc of the Grateful Dead Movie is seriously hot! I just love that one and the way Jerry plays off of Donna (of all things) is a sight to behold. Check it out Rings. I think I will break out my bonus song disc from the Grateful Dead Movie DVD and watch it right now!

Also besides the great recs already made (like 3/20/77) and the 7/18/76 Scarlet, I will add this one

and the 12/31/76 Cow Palace version. Happy listening!
